About

This blog records my thoughts and opinions on languages, language learning, and multiculturalism.

I was born and raised up in Hong Kong, completed my education in the UK, currently living in Canada, and working a lot with US clients.

The name of the blog comes from the story of the Tower of Babel in the Bible. ‘Babel’ means ‘confusion’.

“That is why it was called Babel –because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth” (Gen 11:9)

Thanks to our ancestors for their stupidity, we have now over 7000 languages in the world today. Perhaps this is a good thing for those who find learning languages fun!
